1354.0. "DEChub 900 Module Configuration Manual Requested" by CUJO::HILL (Dan Hill-NetConsultant-Denver-553-3624) Fri Aug 26 1994 17:36

    Is there a document that provides information for configuring a DEChub
    900 with modules and ensure that the config is correct?

    This would be something that is part of a sales guide (like Systems &
    Options Catalog) that customers and resellers could access BEFORE they
    buy the DEChub products.

    I have seen a rather nice Configuration Guidelines sheet for the DEChub
    90, but have seen nothing (except in HUBwatch Use Manual) for the
    DEChub 900.

    Customers and resellers need to EASILY understand the basics of
    configuring a DEChub 900 and to also understand how the flex channels
    work.

    Can someone help?

    Thanks,
    Dan

    Hugh KALI::BOWEN is supposed to be working on a configuration document.
    Ed Buzzell has been trying to put his ginger in teh dike in the
    meantime. See NAC::NIPG:[HUB]POWER.TXT for a partial result. More
    needs to be done in this area. Would a program running on a PC help to
    do this tyep of checking or do we just need some basic data?
1354.2This is part of it...CUJO::HILLDan Hill-NetConsultant-Denver-553-3624Tue Sep 06 1994 20:2216
    Determining power budgets is part of what my customers and resellers
    need, but not all. I have photocopied Chapter 6 of the HUBwatch Use
    guide V3.0 for VMS, along with page 1-5 of the DEChub 900 Owner's
    Manual. These show how to configure modules on the backplane, as well
    as the backplane configuration itself.

    The people who are controlling the funding for such documents as the
    OpenDECconnect Applications Guide and other technical sales & marketing
    documentation need to understand that these types of documentation are
    absolutely "  V  I  T  A  L  "  if we are going to succeed in selling
    our products through new resellers.

    CURRENT DOCUMENTATION DOES NOT EXIST or has not been adequately
    updated.
