1214.0. "IP-services on what modules?" by UTOPIE::PAYERHUBER () Wed Jul 13 1994 08:32

    Gentlemen,
    What modules at what F/W rev. levels do support the IP-services, e.g.
    what modules can we use as inline management agents?
    Reason for this question is, that we were able to connect to a Dechub
    900 via SNMP only when we inserted a DR900TM, no go with DR900FP or
    DB900MX. Hubwatch is 3.0 and we upgraded the hub to 3.0.
    Cheers, fritz

1214.1Following modules should support ip-servicesBIS5::RUTTENSWed Jul 13 1994 09:2316
    I don't have clue of F/W rev. levels in relation to ip-services.
    But to my knowledge following modules support ip-services.

    	DR900TM
    	DR900GM
    	DR900FP
    	DR90FS
    	DR90TS
    	DB900MX
    	DC900MX

    All future modules will also support IP services EXCEPT DECserver 900
    terminal servers and the older DEChub 90 modules. The 1st Token Ring
    module to support IP Services will be the DECMAU 900TH.

.1 correctly lists the available IP servers. Remember that you not only
need an IP server in the hub, but you also need *connectivity* from your
management station to the IP server. This is especially tricky with the
DR900FP, whoes MAC has to be configured to a specific port group. Also
remember that the DB900MX comes with all ports switched to front panel,
so you may not have connectivity to it, depending on your configuration.
