1060.0. "Version 1.0g of firmware of repeater 900tm???" by ISIDRO::ELSA () Thu Jun 02 1994 09:10

    	Hi,

    	I try to upgrade the firmware version 1.0b of decrepeater 900tm
    	to version 1.0g that is in a hub 900. I try this with the kit
        DCF010, and the name of the file that is in mom$load in the system
        is detmm10g.bin,
    	but when I make the download without problems, tftp completed,
    	I check the firmware version and not change. I prove too
    	reset the module and the hub but not change. It's possible
    	that this file is version 1.0b?? or you may have any special
    	consideration on upgrade of this module.

    	p.s the upgrade I make using ndu :

    	     download load /module=7/force=hubmodule ip mom$load:detmm10g.bin
                                  slot              address
    				  where is          of the
    				  repeater            hub

    			Thanks in advance ,

    			Elsa Soengas P.

1060.1MAM-assisted loads don't always workROGER::GAUDETBecause the Earth is 2/3 waterThu Jun 02 1994 18:4215
I am certain that the file in the DCF010 kit is V1.0G of the DECrepeater 900TM
code. However, I am told by our system test hub load gurus that a MAM-assisted
load to the 900TM does not work. Given the DECndu command string that you
provided, the load will fail without a warning message. Yes, there is a problem
in this area.

You should try to directly load the DECrepeater 900TM by configuring it with an
IP address and do the following from the VMS load host:

	$ DOWNLOAD LOAD <ip_address> MOM$LOAD:DETMM10G.BIN /FORCE=PCOMMON

If you configure the repeater with a community string other than "public" be
sure to use the /PASS="<community string>" qualifier also.
