1004.0. "Windows-based management strategy?" by NZOMIS::YOUNG () Thu May 19 1994 01:38

    From what I have read so far about our Windows based management, is the
    following assumptions correct?:

    Hubwatch is mainly a hub manager only and will never be anything like a
    network management platform. It is currently being ported to run on top
    of HP Openview and NMS platforms.

    If this is the case, then when customers want network platform
    functionality, we need to propose these other platforms in conjunction
    with Hubwatch.

    If this is the case, will we be able to integrate HP Openview for Dos,
    Manageworks,Probewatch, Hermes, and maybe pathdoctor, onto a single
    platform at some stage? If not, what is our strategy for management on
    a low-end platform i.e. Windows based.

    	Check out the new FT version of ManageWorks. It looks like they
    are putting in all the basic elements of a Windows based SNMP manager,
    alarms etc.
