994.0. "HUBwatch V3 location?" by BIGUN::WULFF () Tue May 17 1994 00:27

    Hi,

    We have been short listed for DEChub900,s with DECrepeaters,
    DECbridge900, DECserver900 and DECconcentrators. I need to have a copy
    of HUBwatch V3 for VMS. Is there any chance that I can get a copy of
    version 3 before the weekend.

    Thanks,

994.1HUBWATCH for Windows V3.0 and for OSF/1MXOV06::LERIOSTue May 17 1994 04:3716
Hi,

Does anyone knows the release date for the following two products:
- HUBWATCH for Windows V3.0
- HUBWATCH for OSF/1

By another hand, what is going to be the funcionality offered by
HUBWATCH for OSF/1. I would like to suppose the same offered by
the release for Open VMS (V3.0), however I want to confim this.

I would really appreciate any comments.

Thanks in advance

We're planning on making HUBwatch for OSF/1 V3.0 identical to
HUBwatch for OpenVMS VAX V3.0.

Release dates are in a file posted elsewhere in this notesfile.

    I am running Hubwatch V3.0.0 and DECagent V2.1 but cannot use the
    APPLY or OK functions even though I am certain I am using the
    Read-Write community string and have the correct access.

    Should I be running this V3.0.0 as I havent seen an official
    annoucement for it and would normally get a mail on the Hub stuff as I
    am on the distribution list ? One of my colleagues spotted the kits and
    copied them over and I installed it yesterday.

No, you shouldn't be running the V3.0 kit.

That is NOT the SSB kit and you should delete it.

The V3.0 kit will be available on Friday May 20th from:

What do you mean?

If you mean when you bring a window up your OK and APPLY buttons are grayed-
out, then that is correct behaviour. In every window, OK and APPLY are
inactive until you change something in the window. Then they become active.

Or do you mean you change a changeable field in the window, hit OK or APPLY,
and the change doesn't work?

994.6Options still greyed out RDGENG::GREIDBang that head that doesn't Bang !Fri May 20 1994 06:2713

    I have an 8-slot hub which had slot 1 empty until I added a DECserver
    90TL. I have configured the server using TSM and set an IP Address on
    it. When I select the ADD function from the CONFIGURATION menu, and
    fill in all the details of the server including MAC Address and IP
    address, the APPLY and OK options are still grayed out so I have to
    CANCEL as my only option ? This is using the V3.0.0 kit though, which
    is why I thought that if it's not a finished kit this maybe the reason.

    I am correct in my understanding that once an IP address is set on a
    DECserver 90TL in a Hub it can be added and will be visible ??

994.7Using the Add Module pop-up window.SLINK::HOODI'd rather be surfingFri May 20 1994 14:5218
Using the Add Module pop-up:

To add a DECserver 90TL which is not running Network Access Software to
a hub, use the Add Module pop-up.

When you select DECserver 90TL as the module type, all the fields except
Current Password are available.

You must fill in, as a minimum, MAC, IP, and community.

If you first selected the empty slot in your hub, the "Slot:" field in the
pop-up box is filled in automatically. If not, you must also fill in that
field.

At this point, the OK and Apply buttons are sensitive.

And, as the HUBwatch Configuration manual says, if you aren't running Network
Access Software, you must make sure the "Enable Status Polling" button is OFF.
