871.0. "Going backwads sometimes works" by SNOC02::SFEWILSON () Tue Mar 29 1994 22:51

    Roger

    The setup we tried to load was we connected a Dechub with the agent
    installed-the only module in the dechub, directly to the Microvax with
    the DENMA load files installed.

    Progress from previous load attempt, is that installed DEnma v1.1 on
    the VAx and I can upgrade the Agent no problems to V1.1. I then
    attempted to upgrade with the one stage upgrade method required from
    1.1 to V2 and the outcome was as previous attempts, the 4th led
    flashed as the load was progressing , led two flashed and came on solid
    with led 1 and end of story.. I even re installed the V2.0 software
    back onto the VAx and retried, no go still.

    Question is, am I getting a good copy of the V2.0
    saveset?...Unfortunately New Zealand is having problems talking further
    than Australia, so I cant get another copy from QUIVER::

871.2Bad image, maybe?ROGER::GAUDETBecause the Earth is 2/3 waterThu Mar 31 1994 17:0419
It really sounds like you have a bad V2.0 image, although what is "supposed" to
happen in that case is the first LED will be on and the 2nd LED will flash
indicating that the image failed the CRC test. The other two LEDs should remain
off until the CRC test passes.

Try to obtain another copy of the image as soon as you can. Just grab the image
file at QUIVER::PROJ$722:[ONEHUB.RELEASE.DENMA.V2_0]DENMA020.SYS.

As a quick check, when you do a DIRECTORY/SIZE=ALL of the MOM$LOAD directory on
the load host the V2.0 image should display as follows:

DENMA020.SYS;1          481/483     12-MAR-1994 07:31:27.00

You can also do a $ ANALYZE/RMS MOM$LOAD:DENMA020.SYS and see if it uncovers any
errors.

Please keep me advised as to your progress.

871.3Getting there standaloneSNOC02::SFEWILSONWed Apr 13 1994 04:4812
    Roger

    The only way I found to start V2 Decagent after loading it was to run
    the DECagent standalone out of the Dechub. I may have a bad Dechub and
    will try the upgraded Decagent in another hub to prove this.

    There isnt any REV issues here between Agevt V2 and the DEChub 90

    Thanks for the asistance and I will let you know how it comes out after
    getting some more hardware.
