862.0. "Can non-forwarding bridge provide IP Service?" by HGRNCC::FARADAYCHONG (Faraday Chong@hgo 852-8053590) Mon Mar 28 1994 06:31

    Have a question on IP service.

    Supposed there are two DECbridge 900BX in a hub connecting to the same
    FDDI network on the FDDI side, and connecting to the same Ethernet
    segment on the Ethernet side. This will result in: one DECbridge 900MX
    in forward mode and the other in standby mode.

    Will in-band management still works if the "standby" DECbridge 900MX
    was setup to provide IP service?

    Yes this should work.

    As far as I've been able to determine, we havn't tested it yet, but we
    will..
