670.0. "Strange DECrepeater 900TM behaviour" by BIS5::RUTTENS () Fri Jan 28 1994 11:50

    Here a strange DECrepeater 900TM problem.
    When I try to set my in band ip address throug the setup port on the
    DEChub 900MS (in redirect mode) the repeater comes back with the
    following message: " No more room in IP address table. IP address not
    set. "

    I tried to reset the repeater with "current settings" and also with the
    "Factory settings". No luck. Repeater response:
    " Module not responding ! Connection closed !"

    Can anybody help me out.

    Just to clarify - you were attempting to set the In-band address
    _of_the_repeater_, having redirected the hub console to the repeater;
    correct?

    Did the Hub itself have an in-band address assigned, and was the
    repeater in question the IP server?

    That part I can explain. When you reset the repeater, it stops
    communicating with the management module while it is running its
    self-test. The "Module not responding..." comes from the hub
    management module.

    That's what we're here for ! :-)

    What version of the repeater firmware are you running (you can get this
    from the "Show current settings" selection on the repeater setup menu)?

    I'd recommend doing a factory reset on both the hub and the repeater
    and try again to configure everything. Take notes about each step you
    take - if you still have the problem, send us your notes and we'll try
    to reproduce the problem here.

    Yes, the setup port of the hub was redirected to the repeater.
    The in band ip address for the hub was set and the repeater is
    ip-server for the HUB-manager.
