629.0. "90 modules in 900, which channels can it use?" by CTOAVX::BEAULIEU () Mon Jan 17 1994 15:29

    Hi,

Is it true that any DEChub 90 module (ie a DECbridge 90 module) in a
DEChub 900 unit can only use the ethernet channel and it cannot use the
user assignable channel? (ie 4 channels availible, 2 token ring,1
    ethernet and one user assignable)

Also, thanks for the reply in the previous note about the "combo"
module it is confusing the way it is price listed. (ie it says "counts
as one module", evidently this was for some Marketing stuff, buy x
    modules and get xxx free.)

But this does not get one of the other questions answered. Will the
DEChub 900 agent ever natively support all DEChub 90 modules?

I seem to be running into alot of problems because I have to implement
a network now using DEChub 900's and we do not have bridges
    yet...

If the module was designed and released when only the DEChub 90
existed, then they didn't build in the ability to reach the flex
channel (because they couldn't know that it was coming). There are new
half-height modules coming out that will have the ability to work in
both hubs and if in a 900 will be able to use the flex channel on the
upper connector. Neither model of the DECbridge 90 can use the flex
    channel.

See note 519 for a description of what the 900 can do now with 90
modules. If you still have questions, ask here.

Is there a supply problem? What sort of problems are you having?
