595.0. "HUBWATCH speedometers and DETMM port mismatch" by CGOS01::DMARLOWE (dsk dsk dsk (tsk tsk tsk)) Wed Jan 05 1994 16:03

    We finally got our demo DEChub 900 and DETMM in.

    I have a system connected to port A1 and running some DECNET loops
    but couldn't see the speedometers moving on A1. Finally clicking
    on the whole module I see the meters showing A1 traffic on A2 meters.
    Moving the system to port A2 now causes the meters register on A3.
    Traffic on A7 shows on meters A8. Traffic on A8 doesn't show up
    anywhere.

    B1 traffic shows up properly.

    Is this unit a fluke and get field service to replace it or has
    this been seen before?

    Dave,

    	Seems OK on my hub. What versions/flavors of HUBwatch, DETMM, MAM
        are you running? Also, are you performing a refresh and/or have
        HUBwatch polling enabled?

    Is this a solid fault? Can the unit be power-cycled and show the same
    symptom? Are the hub and DETMM genuine production units? What else
    (besides the single DETMM) was in the hub, if anything?

    I powered cycled the DETMM and everything seems ok now. Thanks Marc.
    The 900 power supply (right out of the box) failed intermittantly
    within 3 hours and with all the bumping musta royally screwed up the
    DETMM.

595.4Maybe the reason was ...CGOS01::DMARLOWEdsk dsk dsk (tsk tsk tsk)Thu Jan 06 1994 16:369
    Another thing I noticed is that the DEChub 900 display was saying
    that the DB 90 was the bus master. Now it acknowledges that the
    DB 90 is in the hub but doesn't say anything about it being bus master.

    If that was the problem maybe it got started because the DB 90 was
    in the hub before I finished setting up the 900 through the setup
    port.

    Correct - you had not yet configured an IP address for the Hub;
