513.0. "OSF/DME " by KAOFS::M_AMIRAULT () Mon Nov 22 1993 14:01

    Can anyone provide me with information on Open Software Foundation's
    Distributed Management Environment (OSF/DME).

    I am responding to a large network RFP and the Customer wants the
    network management platform to offer a migration path to OFS/DME.

    Any assistance would be most appreciated.

    Regards,

    Giving a short introduction to DME might be an impossible task.

    Let's just say that it might be a Network/System Management Standard,
    developed by the OSF (like /1, /MOTIF and /DCE).

    Try Bill SKIBUM::GASMAN	for more concrete data

    Other Notesfiles: 	MOLAR::NETMGT and FILES::OSF-DME

    Most Network Mgmt platforms manufacturers have migration paths to
    include DME if and when it becomes a reality. This covers DEC both
    with DECmcc and with Netview.

    Hope this helps a (little) bit. Patrick
