506.0. "DEChub 900: what is the flexible interconnect?" by TENNIS::KAM (Kam USDS (714)261-4133 (DTN 535) IVO) Thu Nov 18 1993 03:09

The sales literature indicated that the DEChub 900 has:
    	2 ethernet,
    	2 token ring and
    	14 user-defineable

A Distributor that has one indicated that the documentation that
accompanied the product indicated that there are:
    	1 ethernet
    	2 token ring
    	1 flexible interconnect
    	14 user-defineable.

can anyone shed some light on this. I don't have access to the manuals
    to check this out.

    	Regards,

    	 kam

The doc has the right description. The confusion is created by the
fact that at first customer ship only Ethernet modules can use the
flexible channel on the upper connector.

Just to clarify ther is 1 dedicated ThinWire Ethernet, 2 dedicated
Token Rings, and 1 technology independent channel on the upper 48 pin
connector. There are 14 technology independent channels on the 160 pin
    lower connector.

And to try and clear up one more point the initial Ethernet
modules will ONLY be able to connect to SIX of the potentially 15
Ethernets that can theoretically be created. In addition the modules
can be connected to the dedicated ThinWire.
