120.0. "Cant get TCP running with hubwatch for Windows" by JOCKEY::GREENR (Curiosity Killed The Cat) Fri Jan 08 1993 14:08

I am trying to get hubwatch for windows running but am having
difficulty with the pc/tcp software running.
    I have installed a depca, dlldepca returns irq=5, i/o=300 c800 32k 19
    buffers.
I have therefore copied depca.com into \hubwatch directory
    modified autoexec.bat with
    c:\hubwatch\depca 0x69 5 0x300 0xc800
    added device=c:\hubwatch\netdev.sys to config.sys
and then run custom util for netdev.sys

    I entered
16.182.16.1 for my address with subnet set to 16 bits
entered hubwatch as username, wasnot sure what was required here ?
    and saved these settings.
After a reboot I try ping -t 16.182.16.244 to my DECagent and the
    continuous message
couldn't send net address unknown is returned.....

    Anybody any ideas....
I've checked my depca is ok by pinging successfully to it from another
unix box, and also installing pathworks ok on it.

I have also tried starting up Hubwatch, when creating a network I do
not get any options for backgrounds yet I have copied the .bmp files to
    my pc..

120.1Specifying Memory address fixs it ?JOCKEY::GREENRCuriosity Killed The CatMon Jan 11 1993 09:5415
    Success,
I have now got the TCP software running.

My fix was to change the DEPCA to default settings ie memory address
d000 rather than c800. The other thing I did different was in custom
netdev.sys I also specified the base memory address under hardware
customisation. The instructions do not specify that this needs to be
    set .

Only problem I have now is that I still don't get any backgrounds.

120.2.BMP background files must be in \backgrnd subdirectoryMEMIT::FORRESTWed Jan 20 1993 16:288
Ross, we will investigate whether the DEPCA settings have to be
	at the default values.

The .BMP files for backgrounds should be in the
		\HUBWATCH\CORE\BACKGRND directory
