924.0. "MAPI Driver for Microsoft Mail (MSmail)?" by THEBAY::WIEGLEB (Voracious schools of lottery girls) Fri Mar 07 1997 03:13

    Does anyone know of any MAPI drivers for Exchange which would allow
    access to Microsoft Mail post offices, similar to the Transend
    ConnectWare product for cc:Mail or Digital's MAPI Driver for ALL-IN-1?

    Thanks,

    I am not sure I understand the question.
    The exchange client can access a microsoft mail post office.
    Are you looking for something different to that?

    cheers,

924.2Easy viewing and drag-n-drop?THEBAY::WIEGLEBVoracious schools of lottery girlsFri Mar 07 1997 23:0717
    Nope, sounds like you understood the question and I just missed
    something obvious.

    Not being an MS-Mail user, I wasn't aware that you can access MS-Mail
    POs from the Exchange client out-of-the-box. I've seen lots of talk
    about the connector and migration tools, but I don't recall ever
    reading anything about access through the client. I'll check again for
    details.

    Is drag-and-drop supported between the two? Does it make sense an an
    individual's migration tool to just move the messages they wish to
    keep?

    Thanks,

924.3can do drag dropGIDDAY::DRANSFIELDMike Dransfield, Sydney RSSGSun Mar 09 1997 01:3514
    yes you can do drag and drop between the two.
    Migration depends on your point of view.
    Do you want to move everyones mail for them and get lots of junk, or
    make them move little bits and throw the rest away or just leave it
    around for a while and let them read and print what they want?

    Most of the people I talk to lean towards the latter approach in which
    case leaving the post office around for a while and letting them use
    both msmail and exchange from the same client would be a way to do
    that.

    just my 10c
