Yes, a mere five days ago, note 1075 was posted.

this is a bit different than 1075 - which wanted to read
the WPS-PLUS attachments in Exchange.

What Innosoft (the PMDF vendor) recommends for converting
WPS-PLUS is to buy and integrate a document conversion
package. They mention KEYpak ( http://www.KEYpak.com )
I don't know what others there are (perhaps the Messaging
practice may). More detail can be found by following the
Support link at Innosoft's page ( http://www.innosoft.com ).

I'm really amazed that this has not come before... I really thought
that this would be a HOT topic and that the people that "planned" the
migration to Exchange would have a plan to address these issues?!

Have I missed something obvious? Wouldn't A LOT of people be
    struggling with this issue?

Yes, for the Digital Exchange migration there are tools (Exchangelink
& Direct-to-1) which will do WPS-PLUS translation. I see from your
entry in 1075 that you have not found this to be true. Did you report
it to the Helpdesk - they can escalate to the vendor if necessary, but
 may already have a solution.

The person asking this question is doing so for a customer migration
project (not internal Digital). We in Digital decided to use the
translation from WPS-PLUS to plain text which is built into PMDF, rather
than by a converter package (which could have gotten quite expensive,
since we're up to about a dozen PMDF gateways by now). PMDF does
 convert all attachments, btw.

Thanks for the response. I have to do a little more research on the
circumstances surrounding the cases where there is a translation
problem. It seems to work in some cases and fails in others. The
original migration was done for a co-worker via Direct-To-1. I have
not seen the same problem with the files that I migrated from my own
account. But then, I have not attempted to open each and every
    attachment yet, either...

The other way to do this is to use Mailbus 400 rather than PMDF. Mailbus
400 comes with Mastersoft converters that do a good job of converting from
WPSPLUS to Word. I have successfully done this at a customer site.
