956.0. "Can domain controller name be changed?" by EPS::BOEHM () Tue Mar 25 1997 01:01

    Can one change the name of the domain controller with killing
    Exchange? Can exchange be told what account to use without
    re-installing, and other gotchas?

    Answer my own question - yes, and easily. Change name of
    domain controller, system may take a while to shut down and reboot.
    Change the exchange services in CONTROL-PNL/SERVICES for the
    new service logon.

    Any workstations that connect to the domain have to be changed. But
    that does not have to be immediate. Exchange client will query for
    the domain name (user and password.).

956.2Don't forget these...fzodhcp1-14.fzo.dec.com::frandsenCharacter: Doing what's right when no-one's lookingThu Mar 27 1997 22:216
Don't forget to change the permissions for the three levels within
Exchange via the Admin program. I think they are Org, Site and
(correct me if I'm wrong) Connections.
