709.2can't see msmail messages from Exchange clientMEOC02::BEESTONLLiz BeestonMon Mar 10 1997 16:0420
    Hi,
Just to ask another question on this one.
I have a msmail environment where I am not able to see the users mail
from the Exchange V4.0 SP3 client.

I configure an Exchange profile to use the Microsoft Mail Information
Service. I provide the sharename for the msmail PO, msmail
username/password etc. When I run the profile I can see the Microsoft
mail Shared Folders and Exchange configures Personal Folders for me and
sets the msmail to be delivered to these folders.

I do not see the users msmail messages.

The msmail PO is on a NetWare server, but access to this seems OK
as the user can run the msmail V3.2 client to access their mail.

Any ideas on what this may be. Do I need to have a certain version of
msmail to access the users mail from an Exchange client.

    Thanks, Liz

If I understand your question, you are saying that when you connect
to the MS-MAIL PO for a particular user, you cannot see the mail
that is currently stored by that MS-MAIL user.

I would expect this to be the case. When that MS-MAIL user received
new mail, I would expect you to be able to see the mail.

If you want to see previously stored mails from the MS-MAIL MMF file,
in the Exchange client (Exchange or Outlook), then you would have
to migrate that MMF file. You can do this using the migration
wizard or import the MS-MAIL MMF file into the Exchange client.
