1408.0. "INTERNET QUESTION" by 44970::RBLAIR (Rod Blair) Mon Jun 13 1994 13:01

    Hi All,
Could someone please give me information on how I can access the
FTP site where atari.archive.unich.edu is. I know how to get into
Internet, but I don't know how to get to this site.
All information will be gratefully received. Thanks.

    						ROD.

If you don't think there is a typo in your node name, then your problem may be
that you realy want the node atari.archive.umich.edu.

If by 'get into Internet' you don't mean the internet OUTSIDE of Digital, then
you should take a look at note 1305.0, which describes how to ftp from
external internet sites.

If you think you have all of that right, and you are aware of the time and
number of connection restrictions on umich, and that umich almost always so
many connections that it is impossible to connect to it, then perhaps you
could give us some more details on the failure when you try to connect to
umich.

If you do not need the very latest and greatest software, you may be better
off using the 'mirror' archive at wuarchive.wustl.edu. The umich atari
directory structure starts at systems/atari/umich.edu on that system. Though
there are places which say that it is updated daily from umich, I find it
usualy lags umich by a week or so.
