| The line about "move toward MSDOS compatiblity" is incorrect. (We have
another word for it here in the U.S. that I generally wouldn't use in a
public forum, if you know what I mean.)
To me it sounds like your computer is broken, or the floppy disk is
damaged. let me get this straight:
- Your disk, friends STe, works fine.
Are you sure your friends have STe and not STfm?
- your disk, your STe, does not work.
- your disk, stores STe, does not work.
If your friends actuall have STfm rather than STe, then the TOS version
theory is very likely true, that is, the program works on TOS 1.4 but
not with TOS 1.6 or 1.62. It is unlikely that it works on 1.6 but not
1.62.
Otherwise, it can't be explaiend, but perhaps you need to have a friend
copy the disk for you, and it's coincidence that the disk works on their
drives but not on new drives.

I think, the answer is you need an older TOS-Version.
Ask your friends for an older bootable TOS-Version like 1.4 or 1.0
(call ATARI for information if you can't get an older version)
Then first you boot your system with the old TOS-Version and
starts the programm again, I think the problems will be fixed!
