    Can't find exactly what I want in this conference, perhaps someone
    could help.
    
    I want to use my LA50 printer to print from a word processing package
    on my ST. I realise that I probably won't be able to do italic
    characters etc, but I am rather hoping that normal text, bold, and
    underlined will work OK.
    
    I need to know firstly do I use the modem or printer port, then what
    cable do I need (which pins, and cross-overs, jumpers etc)

	First - use a null modem cable, female to female, on the serial port. It would help if you told us what word processor. It may be possible to get some special effects. PageStream 2.1 actually has an LA50 printer driver, imagine that!

	I have some experiencies adapting a LA50 to STWriter-Elite. In STW there exists a config-file with default values for Atari- printers (eg ESC-sequences for bold, underline, elongated ...). What I did was to substitute these values with the right LA50 sequences. Very simple in fact. STW is PD (and good)! /johan

	RE .4 STW-Elite was recently published on a freebie disk in a UK magazine. Unfortunately, there was no printer config file information with it. Can anyone post said information, or an example file, please? Brian.
