    Its fingers crossed time time again for me...
    
    I might, just might be able to get my hands on a large monochrome
    workstation type monitor (non DEC) which has on the back of it a
    Video input connector that looks much like the coaxial connector
    for the aerial on the back of a TV.
    
    Thats about all I can tell you about it at the moment, but what I want
    to know is :
    
    	1. Is it worth having (ie can I hook it up to my ST and get a nice
    	   big high rez display) ??
    
    	2. If it is possible what is involved, how much might it cost ??

    I was thinking about the same too, a while ago. I had following
    conclusions, but everything is assumed though. I had not the
    chance to try it out.
    
    There should be no problem to display color in greyscales if you
    by an RGB->video converter. Meanwhile they come for about $60.
    Unless you do not have a graphics card and a Mega to fit it in, you
    do not get a higher resolution, just a bigger display.
    
    For mono things look different. If the converter is able to handle
    72Hz and the monitor is too, you could try to connect the mono
    output of the atari to the RGB inputs of the converter the same time.
    This is the way it's done in my mono/color switch for the NEC 3D
    multisync monitor. This should give you a 640*400 pixels display on
    the big-screen.
    
    As I said, all this is just a guess and its not granted. I couldn't
    try it out. I may be totally wrong...

    What I was (of course) hoping to hear was that I would get a massive
    desktop with higher resolution etc. etc.
    
    I realise I might need a special adapter for this but it would be
    really nice even if I have to pay a bit for it.
    
    If I ever get hold of the monitor then I will try it and let you know
    what happens.
    
    By the way, I really want to get hold of the SARATOGAN virus killer.
    
    Note 9.nnn says that you have it in MUNEDI:: somewhere or the other
    but when I do a directory your ATARI directory has gone. Do you still
    have this or know where I can get it on the net ???

    For sure you have to get hold of a graphics card if you want to get
    higher resolutions. The monitor itself won't do. There are some
    good graphics cards available for the slot in the Mega machines, and
    two for the STs. One displays TT resolutions and is just to be 
    connected between monitor and the monitor port of the ST. No opening
    or soldering. They showed it on the Atari fair in Germany. It costs
    about 350 $. The other card is to be soldered on top of the 68000.
    I bought that on but had no luck so far. Whenever I want to run the
    program for the higher resolution I get bus-errors... (still working
    on it). But for a resolution of about 1000*800 pixels they promised,
    it was really cheap (~80 $) :-)
    
    I moved all my files and also the rest of the easynet pd programs to
    a workstation that is standalone in the moment. There was not enough
    diskspace available for all the Atari files I gathered in MUNEDI 
    account. Somewhen IS might connect that workstation to the easynet,
    then I'll post it. Meanwhile I will make Sagrotan available for you
    on MUNEDI again, next week.

    Before I go out and buy a new system, I want to be sure that its the
    right thing. So this time I have the choice between a TTM124 and a 
    TTM125 19" monochrome monitor. What is the difference? The TTM125
    seems to be the newer part (I haven't seen either of them) though the
    TTM124 is a lot cheaper. What connectors do they have?
    
    Also there is a graphics card that has a ECL/Analog, fixed or variable
    frequencies output. I never heard of that one before. What is it and
    what kind of monitors can I connect to this card (its 12xx * 1024
    pixels mono)?
