I have always believed that the ST (except the Mega) was a close to
having a portable as possible (minus the screen). The enclosed power
supply along with built in floppy makes this machine an easy computer
to "take along". I love the monichrome monitor for the resolution and
now that the stacy is out sporting an LCD screen (and little to no
battery support), I am convinced that if an LCD screen could somehow be
interfaced to the monitor port, my current ST would be a real good
portable computer. I have no idea how to do the interface, let alone
finding the supplier for an LCD screen (or plasma screen, if that is
the case), but I believe that owners of an ST are almost owners of the
Stacey with an investment that is FAR less than paying for what amounts
to be a portable 1040 ST. Is the LCD screen technology adaptable to
the current lot of ST's out there?
