1011.0. "Demos" by SIEVAX::JAMIE (Use me, Use me... Ooops! Excuse me!) Tue Nov 13 1990 13:42

    I'm after a few things :

Firstly, does anyone have any demos available such as the Snowman demo,
Union Demo, The Whataheck demo, the Mind Bomb demo etc...

Secondly, does anyone have a ramdisk called MaxiDisk ? This compresses
data within it so that you can store so much more data in the Ramdisk
at the sacrifice of a little speed...

    Cheers,

    				Jamie.

I have snowman demo. I believe that I have it on diskette which is in
my car. Send me mail if you want it.

    Hi,

My friend bought the snowman demo at Atarifest '90. Like usual
he tried to back it up right away. The backup did not work, even
with PROCOPY. I really like the demo myself, and jotted down the
phone number of the BBS (Merrimack NH) that developed it.

I would have bought one at the show, but I didn't see it, due
    to the crowd...

I will post the number of the BBS if anyone's interested. They
were charging $3 at the show according to my friend...

I want to get a copy myself...

1011.3Disk is not PC readableBAGELS::FELDMANJerry Feldman DTN 227-3279Tue Nov 13 1990 16:2511
As I mentioned in .1, I happen to have snowman here today because there
is a BCS meeting tonight. Unfortunately, the disk was not formatted
such that a PC could read it, so I cannot put it on the Easynet. I
believe that we have Snowman demo in the BCS PD library.

    Re .2:
Which user group did you get snowman from at the Atarifest. If you
got it from the BCS, please contact me, and I will make sure you get a
    good copy.

I've got the Snowman demo, the SOWATT! demo, the XTC demo, the power
demo and last but by far the best - the MINDBOMB demo which features
about ten sub demos including a conversion of the Amiga RED SECTOR demo
    - truly amazing.

I'd upload these but I can't ! They're not conventionally stored on the
disk (except for the snowman). Does anyone know if Magic Shadow - a PD
routine to back up an MS-DOS floppy into a single file on the ST -
would work with normal ST disks ? Or if not, does anyone know of
    anything similar ?

    Cheers,

    					Jamie.

I've now got the SOURCE code for The Lost Boys "MEGABANG" demo...

If anyone's interested, I'll upload it. It's fairly sparce on comments
    though!

    Cheers,

I have the following demo's if anyone is interested send me a mail.

    Star Wars

    Dragons Lair non-playable

Iron Maiden "Transylvania" (every now and then this sort of "jumps"
like the record has a scratch but it's pretty good though.)

    All these are STe compatible.

    I've got :

    The European Demo
    The Cuddly Demo
    XTC Demo
    So Watt! Demo
    The Power Demo
    The Mindbomb Demo
    Skid Row Demo
    The Overdrive Demo

And a few more that I can't remember. Most of these are VERY good; The
European Demo comes on two double sided disks and contains about twenty
six different musical and graphical extravaganzas!!!

I think I've figured out a decent way of uploading these disks now, so
    hold tight...

If I can upload these with no problems I'll maintain a demo directory.

I'd be interested in the Star Wars (as long as it's not a demo of the
    game) and Iron Maiden demos...!

Has anyone got the Yo! Demo or Syntax Terror yet ??? I'm trying to get
    hold of these.

Great idea Jamie !!!

Where is it gonna be this DEMO directory ?

By the way I would be glad to see a little descriptive summary of each
demo, I like to figure out on before hand if it's worth downloading.

Regards,

Floris

I have some of these demos and i want to record them on my Video VHS-SECAM
recorder. I have a cordon Video-Peritel, but my MagnetoScope is still
    black, no sound, no images.

    Have you any ideas ?

    Thanks
