1002.0. "AES/VDI Calls for Pascal?" by SUOSW3::KAISER (ULTRIX/SQ...what??) Tue Nov 06 1990 11:22

I'm using ST PASCAL+ (OSS PASCAL) for development. As not all AES/VDI calls
are included in the libraries of the kit and I don't want to reinvent the wheel:
does someone already have written the AES_CALL(...) or VDI_CALL(...) routines
which are missing. I'm interested in VRO_CPYFM, V_OPNVWK,.. and the structures
like MFDB. If no one can provide these calls I'll have to do it on my own.

Thanks a lot

I thought the latest version of OSS pascal included an insert
containing the directions for making the AES or VDI calls. Seems like
I even tried it out and had it working fine. I think the latest
    version is version 2.0.

I had thought at one time about setting up a library of calls such as you are
looking for, but in general the coding of them is so easy it never seemed worth
the effort.

How are you progressing?

Well, as obviously noone already has such a library I code the calls at the time
I need them. Actually I'm using include files instead of a real library.
The program I want to write is a conversion from an existing C program, so
my first goal is to compile it without errors and then to test it. So I can't
say at this time whether my calls are ok.

I think Tackle Box ST by SRM Enterprises provides object libraries for
all the AES and VDI calls for Personal Pascal (formerly OSS Pascal). The
only problem is that SRM Enterprises is no more. Recently, someone was
selling a copy on the Usenet.
