980.0. "another Atari service center dies" by DUGGAN::DLEE () Wed Oct 10 1990 17:33

Just found out that Bob Fitzpatrick, N. Billerica, MA (USA)
does not do Atari service anymore. Could get parts and doing Atari
service was just killing them, business wise. He will finish
whatever he was given, and concentrate on a CB radio store he opened
in Malden, MA.

980.2Bob will be missedBAGELS::FELDMANJerry Feldman DTN 227-3279Mon Oct 15 1990 13:229
    That is a big loss for Atari in Eastern Mass. Bob is one of the best
    technicians around. His work is very neat as well as competently done.
    Unfortunately, I do not know anyone else whose work is as good as
    Bob's, although John Kamoutses of Syntronics does repair work also.

    Over the years, Bob has supported the BCS/Atari BBS by providing us
    maintenance services for advertising.

I just called RF Microtech to confirm that he is no longer in the Atari
business. The news is true, unfortunately. I do know that he has been
unhappy with Atari's policies for some time, but he still hung in there.
No more.

Anyway, I was told that his days are now spent at his CB radio store at
72 Eastern Avenue, Malden, Mass, 617-321-2550.

He has performed a valuable service for all of us Atari owners in the North
Boston area, and I wish him luck.

    FOR ANYONE WHO IS INTERESTED THERE IS GREAT SERVICE FOR ATARI IN TWO
    LOCATIONS WEST OF BOSTON. THE PLACE IS CALLED THE BIT BUCKET IN SUDBURY
    ASK FOR JOE. IF HE CAN'T HELP YOU HE WILL KNOW WHERE YOU CAN GET HELP.
    WITH ALL THE TALK ABOUT ATARI HEADQUARTERS BEING IN BOSTON WITH THE NEW
    CEO THINGS WILL IMPROVE FOR THE OWNERS.
    THE BIT BUCKET WILL ALSO HAVE A BOOTH AT ATARIFEST 90.
                                                                "MAX"
980.5Joe Aiello is a long time AtarianBAGELS::FELDMANJerry Feldman DTN 227-3279Fri Oct 19 1990 13:5010
    Joe Aiello (I think I have it right) has been involved with Atari for
    many years and is a very knowledgable person. As some of you may
    remember, Joe worked with Thom Graziano at Compuclub.

    With respect to Atari headquarters in Boston, it is a definite NO.

    Also note that the Bit Bucket has purchased the largest booth at
    AtariFest.
