930.0. "Fire Brigade" by VMSINT::THIEL (Dave Thiel -- VMS Development) Sat Jul 28 1990 00:19

I just had delivered a historical wargame for the ST - Fire Brigade
    by Panther Games of Australia.

I've got a problem running this game that I've not seen before -
everything is fine as I boot the machine and load the program. It
displays a nice introductory picture and waits for a keystroke. Then
the real game screen appears, but the screen starts rolling vertically!
Things work, in that I can pull-down and select from a menu (while it
all rolls), but this isn't exactly something you feel enjoyment doing!

Does anyone have this game and have/not have this problem?

Does anyone have any suggestions as to the cause or (better yet) the
    cure?

Note: This game isn't copy protected. The same thing happens whether
it is run from my hard disk using my usual environment or when run
from a sector copy of the distribution disk.

    Hi
Before I got my colour monitor this used to happen on my TV with
the ST if I ran a 60hz game on it (U.K electric is 50hz). Could be
    this?

My monitor is an Atari SC1224 color monitor; power is US standard 60
Hz. Is this monitor or the computer itself dependent upon line
    frequency?

Roger, what did you do about the problem?

I have Fire Brigade as well, and had the same problem. It seems
to be related to the color title screen. If the color title screen
file is deleted it works fine (drops right into the game).
