916.0. "GE-SOFT SCSI ADAPTER" by WELSWS::WICKHAM () Mon Jul 02 1990 16:11

    Has anone used the GE-Soft SCSI host adapter?
    Can it be used with RZ series drives?

    Gasteiner Technologies sell it in England. I saw a poor revue of the
    product's software in St User (July). I have telephoned Gasteiner and
    asked for information but have received nothing.

    It might be a good thing to keep this a product specific topic,with
    pointers to other relevant topics.

916.1Not sure, but......CHEFS::MURPHYJ1Wed Jul 04 1990 11:336
    I did get Gasteiner to try their board on an RZ, it didn't work.
    This may be because the RZ unit did not have its spin up on power up
    bit enabled - their board or software does not have any SCSI START/STOP
    support command which doesn't help.

916.2Try topic 41 (Build your own)WELMTS::GILMOURJim @ MarconiWed Jul 04 1990 13:524
    Try reading 41.* as this is a note on building your own using RZxx
    and RDxx drives.

916.3how about Adapter+TK50+SCSIcontroller ?MGOI03::FALKENSTEINso many girls, so little time...Thu Aug 23 1990 09:268

    I'd like to buy this product also to connect a TK50 with
    SCSI-Controller to it. Any experiances if this idea would work
    and what kind of software is needed?
