811.0. "UNITERM and 8 bit characters" by MUNMCC::BALTESKONIS (To whom it may Concern) Thu Mar 29 1990 06:52

My UNITERM (V2.0d) seems to have problems on input (from the host) of the
international character set (8 bit).

On receiving german text from the host, the Umlauts don't come out at all.
However I captured the incoming text to a file, stopped UNITERM and simply
listed the file on the screen and all the characters come out correctly.

So what do I have to do to UNITERM to get him to print those characters
correctly?

Thanks for any help
Steve in Munich

Sounds like you need to change the terminal characteristics from 7bit to 8bit.
It is in one of the menu's.

You may also want to try a newer version of Uniterm. The latest one I have
seen is V2.0e 009.
