I have noticed that many of the pointers to available software in note 9
are either incorrect or have some sort of privelege violation. I would
be most grateful if message 9 could be cleaned up, showing pointers only
to available software, and that where possible the protections removed
and the path names corrected when they have been moved else where.
The area which I was particularly interested in was on
PRNSYS::DUA2:[LOMICKAJ.HOBBY.ST.WHACK] and
PRNSYS::DUA2:[LOMICKAJ.HOBBY.ST.METAFONT] both of theres caused
a protection violation.

The area PRNSYS::DUA2:[LOMICKAJ.HOBBY.ST.WHACK] is NOT MEANT to be world readable. The publically available WHACK files are PRNSYS::DUA2:[LOMICKAJ.HOBBY.ST]WHACK.TXT,WHACKZOO, and WHACKPRG.ZOO. The [.WHACK] directory is used for various source files and old versions that are not meant for general distribution. The area PRNSYS::DUA2:[LOMICKAJ.HOBBY.ST.METAFONT] is also not announced as a world readable area. The announced area is in message 9.47, on node IJSAPL::. As far as I am concerned, both of your problems are non-problems. The stuff I "oficially" keep on PRNSYS is listed in STFILES.DOC in the ".ST" directory. There is, however, no reason to keep my metafont files protected, so if it is easier for you to get to PRNSYS, you may, as long as they last, get the Metafont stuff there. | |||||
