736.0. "Spectre keypad mapping? Problem!!" by BERN01::RUGGIERO () Mon Jan 15 1990 11:45

    I have Spectre running (Version 2.3) and it runs fine. But I found
    some strange thing. Using Mac241 (terminal emulator) on the Mac
    (system 6.0.3) it does not use the keypad keys. Further investigation
    showed that the Spectre does not support the keypad (I' m not quit
    sure about that). Is this true? Is this a bug in the Spectre? Does
    anybody know (/have a patch) how to get the Mac to recognize the
    keypad?
    Thanks for any info on that.

    I'm pretty sure that the keypad will only work if you turn on Mac-Plus
    (as opposed to Mac SE) emulation. There is a keystroke sequence to do
    this (I think it's keypad +; check your docs).

736.2I already tried this with no successBERN01::RUGGIEROTue Jan 16 1990 05:4019

I did not mention it: I already tried this. Those various little programs
that show you your systemconfiguration tell me that it is a Mac+ but with
unknown keyboard. Going into the keycaps desk accessory I see the full
keyboard, but when I press any key on the keypad the corresponding key on
the main keyboard shows up. With one exception: the backslash gives a backslash
but does not higlight any key, neither on the main kbd nor on the keypad.

    Hmm. Markus, then I don't know the answer. Have you tried mailing Dave

736.4It isn't perfect...WLDWST::RVANZUYLENRon S. van ZuylenThu Jan 18 1990 06:576
    As of Spectre 2.3, Spectre still maps the keypad as "normal" keys
    instead of a real keypad. It also doesn't support keypresses like
    SHIFT {arrow key}. Hopefully, all these "problems" will be eliminated
    in the next release.
