| I've being using the pre-release V3.0 of Fleet Street Publisher since the
beginning of the year. It comes with 12 different post-script type faces
these include Times,Courier,Helvetica in normal, bold, italic, and bold italic.
These post script fonts can be seen both on screen and output to a postscript
device such as a lino-type or even to a non-postscript device such as the Atari
laser itself. This means of course that you can have post-script quality output
from a laser printer for approximately 1000 pounds. It also means that if you
would like to publish work from a commercial photosetter and printer you can,
since the postscript output from your page may also be saved onto floppy disk.
This is one of the main advantages of this product over Calamus, it has no
postscript output. Before the lauch of this pre-release I'd been using Calamus
and can say now that the output is better from Fleet Street except at point
sizes below 6. The other main advantage of Fleet 3 is that is approximately
half the price of Calamus and that the fonts are one third of the price. However
release 3 is still waiting for a full implementation of Ultrascript which is
available in the USA and comes bundled with the Atari laser. If anyone is
interested in this topic or has any additional information on any fonts or other
news on Ultrascript I would be grateful. Maybe a special interst group on DESK
TOP PUBLISHING.
