727.0. "MIDI Port and KA9Q-TCP/IP" by SUOSW4::SURAUF () Tue Jan 09 1990 06:05

    Hi there,
does anyone know the Pinassignment for the MIDI-Port in use with
    KA9Q-TCP/IP Package?

For example: Where ist the PTT located to drive a TNC2c ?

I would assume that you would do that with the serial port, not the Midi port.
Midi is a data-only port, 5ma current loop at 32000 baud.

    Hi Jeff,
on the serial port is already a TNC connected. The reason is, i
need one other TNC connected to the Atari. Somebody did it already,
but i forgot who it was.
Another question: What ist the correct setup for a LA75 to use it
    on the Atari?

Ideally, you us an LA75-P variety on the parallel port. If it's a
regular LA75, read 726.3. The hookup will be the same.

I don't know about software configuration for the LA75. Rumor is that
the LA75 has an IBM mode that may be more useful than the DEC mode. I
DO have a simple print-screen desk accessory that will generate sixels.
Look at PRNSYS::DUA2:[LOMICKAJ.HOBBY.ST]PSLA50.C,.ACC.  Monochrome only.

    re. LA75 Setup

The LA75 works in IBM Emulation mode with the ST without major
    problems.
    I use the following setup:

    - ST side, printer configuration: Matrix
    					S/W
    	                                960
    					maximum resolution
    					seriell port
    	       seriell port : 4800 baud
    					xon/xoff flow
    					parity none
    					8 bits
    					1 stop bit
    					full mode
    - LA75 side : standard setup apart from
    					IBM emulation
    					4800 baud

Using this configuration you can print from the desktop and do screen-
hardcopies. But you can't use with this setup in 1stWord because
1stWord cannot handle xon/xoff on the seriell line (at least my version
cannot do it). You would have to change to 300 baud and switch the
    xon/xoff option off (ST side).

    	hope this helps,
    					Matthias
