636.0. "Atari Headquarters shook?" by ENGINE::PAULHUS (Chris @ MLO6B-2/T13 dtn 223-6871) Wed Oct 18 1989 13:49

Has anyone heard how Atari Headquarters made out in the shake last
night? (I would be so p!$$@d IF the part of the warehouse over the TTs
and ATWs [assuming they have any] fell in, sparing the Lynxs and other
toys.) Hope none of the staff got hurt...

On a tangent, I wonder if DEC's supply of electronic components has
been/will be interupted, you know: commodity items like chips,
    resistors, etc...? - Chris

dunno how pertinent this is to this conference but Cupertino plant
was evacuated, no injuries reported, however both Cupertino and
Mountain View sustained structural (minor) damage. Most all
people were accounted for as of this morning.

As for Atari, I suppose they're like everyone else this morning, no
power, no clean rooms, no production. Quite a quake.

    Re: .1

    I second this.

I live in Sunnyvale, and damage here was pretty superficial. As a
matter of fact, I know that some companies are operating their clean
    rooms and fabs today.

The question that I asked about DEC suppliers in the valley is
topic 12 or so in the Earthquake Conference. I'll be expecting official
news to appear there. - Chris
