| 249$ ? That's half the price I can get!
Just curious, what are the official prices in US, UK, Germany and
Holland ? Any other best buy price ?
I'm looking for a good color monitor, and the SC1224 is really the
best I've seen at an affordable price.

| Just for interest, I have recently bought a new SC1224 at 179 pounds
sterling which seems to be about as cheap as you can get them in
the UK. I find the monitor great with a few strings attached. If
the screen is blanked white, the flicker is quite an eyestrain,
this to the degree that I have installed a CONTROL.ACC on all my
disks that gives me a black backgroud, white text, and a blue-grey
desktop. This I find a very effective colour combination which removes
any trace of flicker. Another point I moticed was that the contrast/
brilliance controls were somewhat limited. This is however after
being accustomed to a VT220 which when cranked up to 10 will give
of an alarming radioactive glow !!!
Medium res is the biz !! Using a TV as I did before, medium res
was not entirely practical, eyestrain being the usual result, but
now, with my SC1224, gone forever are the days where SHOWING text
files would result in pages streaming of the screen at lightning
speed before one is able to read them. Wonderful.
To get to the end of it all, and to let you good people get on with
your lives, 179 pounds is a lot of money to find in one lump, but
I have not been disappointed bar the flicker !!!

No penalty for Europeans, Dave. There are some programs, that change
the line frequency from 50 to 60 Hz, and they even work for non-americans.
