233.0. "MORIA" by KERNEL::FLOWERS (Hero of the Green Screen...) Mon Sep 19 1988 08:03

    Hello all,

    	Does anybody have a complete copy of the MORIA that came across
    from USENET recently that they have successfully de-coded and un-
    arced. Every time I try to decode it I get "No end line".

    Cheers,

    	Jason.

    There are actualy TWO UUEncoded files, MORIATXT (something like
    parts 1 thru 4) and MORIABIN (the rest, ie: parts 5 thru 15).

    The last few parts showed up this morning.

    You can copy the two .ARC files from my public directory but they
    won't be there for more than a couple of days. These are relativly
    HUGE files.
    	MILRAT::DISK$USER3:[WALLACE.PUBLIC.ST]MORIATXT.INF
    	MILRAT::DISK$USER3:[WALLACE.PUBLIC.ST]MORIATXT.ARC
    	MILRAT::DISK$USER3:[WALLACE.PUBLIC.ST]MORIABIN.ARC

    Cheers Ray,

    I have copied the files across so I guess you can free up some disk
    space now!!

233.3is Moria like LARN or those other dungeon games?DELNI::GOLDSTEINobviously, member of some cabalMon Sep 19 1988 21:335
    Stupid question...

    I already have LARN. Is Moria very different? Is it worth catting
    it all together and uploading? Or is it pretty much a clone?
          fred
233.4Probably, maybe, sort of, I thinkMILRAT::WALLACETue Sep 20 1988 13:348
    I've only played LARN once and have not played Moria yet, but judging
    by reading some of the Moria readme files it sounds like the same
    TYPE of game as LARN.

    Maybe someone who's spent some time playing both can give a
    comparison!?

233.5MORIA = LARN (wanted)DOOZER::MAUDEJohn S. Maude EDU Services Reading UKTue Sep 20 1988 13:5415
    Hi All,

    	You are quite correct in saying that Moria and Larn are the
    same type of games. Of the two I prefer Larn as it is a trifle easier
    to reach the end and also playing time is a lot shorter.

    	I downloaded LARN when it was on the net. However, I cannot
    go back UP through the caverns as the dungeon seems to have collapse
    above me, even if I play in wizard mode the same thing happens but
    I get all the shops on the periphery of level 1. Obviously a bug!!

    	Does anybody have a clean copy of LARN which they know works.

    TA John
