| I just received my unsolicited copy, I probably won't even try it.
I told them on the phone I would wait till it was bug free. They
said in the shipment that an informal poll showed people didn't
want to wait anymore and would take it no matter what shape it was
in. All I can say is "Bull!". They probably had a cash flow problem
and needed to ship something so they could legally charge my account
(they said they wouldn't charge until they shipped).
The manual had only sections 1 & 5, if my memory serves me correctly.
They did say that there will be a "free upgrade" to the next version,
just make sure you send in the registration card. They have included
a BUGS.TXT or some such file that supposedly describes known bugs.
They also warn that some functions may crash the program or be
unusable in some other manner. I would like to see who they "polled"!
They also tought (sic) the over 40,000 lines of assembler code as being
an asset, if they had written it in C it would probably be working
by know. At least they sent it in the new packaging, which they
originally said they would charge an extra $25.00 for if you elected
it (of course I haven't seen the charge on my account yet either...).
Very disappointing,

| I've bought the V1.01 of Publishing Partners about a year ago. From
some magazines published in Germany and England I gathered that new
(sub)releases were made and better fonts (especially for matrix printers)
were available, as well as text importing facilities that removed the
<eol>s of the texts imported.
I've sent in my guarantee card when I bought it to Soft Logic. I've
written to them asking about the above several times with no success:
Europe is obviously not on their list or they don't know how to spell it.
Hence a request: can someone help me to upgrade my V1.01 to the current
version? (I can send proof of purchase to assure you I'm not cheating
or using pirate copies). Publishing Partners may not be perfect, but
it is nice to use - especially when the V1.01 shortcomings have been
remedied. Any help appreciated (can do so off-line through mail).

| My version came with a desk accessory from some magazine that can be used
to filter the lf's out of imported text, but the capability is not
integrated into PP. There were no better fonts - I use "Roman Bookface"
most of the time, since it's the only font I can read on the color
monitor.
I don't recall if it came with PP, or is a Public Domain font that
showed up on some BBoard.
