158.0. "bus_system with cp/m 68k " by BERN01::RUGGIERO () Fri Jul 08 1988 13:09

I put a question about cp/m 68k in topic 108, and nobody seems to
    be able to help me.
So I ask again, but more open:

Does anybody know somebody who knows somebody who I can ask where to
find somebody who has written a BIOS for the cp/m 68k on an Atari?

In the beginning Digital Research Inc started to implement cp/m 68k
as the atari OS. As far as I know this was given up because of very
slow disk I/O. Then Jack T. decided to have his own OS ---> TOS.
Isn't it a nice thing: TOS was developped under cp/m 68k!
The atari development package contains the assembler and linker and
several other utilities originally designed for operation under
cp/m 68k now running under TOS.
Yes, I know... cp/m is an oldie, even the 68k version and has an
oldfashioned commandline interpreter without any fancy windowing
but... there is a build-yourself computer (mc68k) from a german
computer journal whith cp/m 68k in ROM. First of all it's a very
nice system in the open style as were the old apples with a lot
of slots and alot of good software! And (b) there exists from a
german harwarehouse (Rhotron) a bussystem for the atari that is
almost identical to the mc68-bus (costs around 300 German Marks)
and there are very nice cards from hardwareclock over memory
expansionboards (up to the full 16Mbytes) to standard harddisk
    controllers.
