153.0. "Atari 6502 Emulator - STXFII - version 2" by CIMBAD::POWERS (I Dream Of Wires - G. Numan) Tue Jul 05 1988 16:13

Is anyone interested in running old 8bit atari software on
their ST. This weekend, I uploaded a new version of Daryl Mihocka
(sp???)'s 6502 emulator. It is really nice, He has added a gem
interface, and sped it up by over 100%, by talking to David Small,
and the person who wrote PC-Ditto, sorry I can't remember his name
right now. It requires 1 meg of memory, and it is pretty tight,
I had to disable my copy of Turbodos. It now supports I believe
player missle graphics. This emulator has the support of Atari,
they even let him use the rom code in the program. He is trying
to get the same commitment from apple, and comodore, so it can work
with their machines. If anyone is interested, Ill upload it to
    the E-Net.

Yes I'm interested! It's to bad it takes a full megabyte to run.

Me too, I guess... though my old trusty 800 is currently collecting
dust down my cellar. Can anyone suggest a neat, simple way to move
software between the 800 and the 520st which sits beside it? Or for
that matter, between my two 520st's? I bought cables, null modem etc.
once, but never could get it to happen.

Write the file to the first systems floppy disk drive, move the floppy
disk to the second system, read the file. :-)

Use Uniterm. Run it on both systems, set for KERMIT transfers, make
sure the baud rates agree, tell first system to send, tell second system
to receive, play space invaders on the '800 while waiting.

Look into the PD MIDI-network things that are around. I have played
with two midi-ring network things, and once read data from the other
system's disk, but the entire network hung shortly thereafter. With
more paitence, you may do better.

There is now a 520 version of the emulator II on GENIE. It works
only in color and has no GEM interface. I have not downloaded it
    yet.
