59.1Isn't all software late and over budget?PRNSYS::LOMICKAJJeff LomickaTue Apr 26 1988 15:0522

    Thanks Jeff ..

Might be that I just have to wait for a while then, polling the
    boutiques in Paris.

[BTW, I like your sense of humour, did you know that a common name
for a computer store is "Computer butikken" (in denmark).
The one in Nice is a video !! shop, with side business; called
Holywood Stars !!. And the secrataries answer to what was happening
was : " No I am sorry , we don't get that Mark Williams GAME for
     you ]

Having had an ST in France since 1985 I've found that getting software is
a royal pain! This is particularly true of U.S. and U.K. products that haven't
been translated into French......when they are translated by a French
distributor the price hike is sometimes a real quantum jump!.

In Nice there are a couple of places worth trying if you want more serious
software for the ST. One is FNAC in Nice Etoile and the other is the
Sorbonne Bookshop in the pedestrian area in Nice (they also stock Megas and
demo the laser printer etc), they often have original language U.K. software.

There is a specialist micro shop not too far from Nice Etoile but I cannot
remember either the name or the address!

There is also a dealer in Le Cannet (Apple and Atari) near the top end of
Boulevard Carnot...open during the week and Saturday mornings (I can't tell
you what selection he has since we spend Saturday morning at Carrefour!).

Frankly I use every opportunity I get to pick up what I want when in the
U.S. or U.K....there is in fact a reasonable community of ST users in
Digital Valbonne (about 6 in my group alone).

Cheers,
	Nigel

Mark Williams Company currently expects to begin shipping out the V3
release and upgrade kits early next week.

I have now recieved the MWC. It says V2.1.7, so I guess right thing
to do, is to send in the registration , and wait for the upgrade
    offer.
Anyway I will not need the upgrade for a while, because this SUPER manual
will keep us/me busy for a long time, learning how to use the stuff.
I hope the rdy works, when I'm "rdy" to install the beast.

PS. Seems like Jeff was right about the ATARI ST functionality before
        having MWC on hand.
