2936.0. "BUY/SELL/SWAP note?" by TALLIS::N_NEWSTED () Tue Oct 10 1989 18:36

Is there a buy/sell/swap note in this file? I've noticed
many such topics in other notesfiles, like COOKS.

Is that inappropriate for the feline notesfile?

    moderator response appreciated

There is a Classified notes file, but I don't remember where it
    is.

The Classified notes file is located at TECHNO::CLASSIFIED_ADS.

Yes, the Classified Ads notes is in TECHNO::CLASSIFIED_ADS.
Press Keypad-7 if you want to add it to your conference.

By the way, it gets a lot of use, and has a limited number
of links, so if you get a message something like "network
object unknown at remote node", just try again later.

My impression of what was asked in .0 is whether or not there
is a Buy/Sell/Swap _note_ in _this conference_. Correct me if I am
wrong, but I don't believe there is. If we want to start one, how
about using this note, since the title is already there ;^).

The moderators have no problem with this note being used to buy/sell/swap
items pertaining to cats and cat care. Any other items will not be allowed.
This can only be used for one-time items - services (such as cat sitting,
etc) should not be posted here. Also, we would appreciate it if you
would delete your reply once your request is satisfied.

We have added a keyword of BUY-SELL-SWAP to this note.

2936.6Wanted: Scale - Weighing cats discussed in 3142AKOV76::BROWNcat_max = current_cats + 1Wed Dec 13 1989 15:4832
I am trying to find a scale to weigh my cats with, and hope someone can
offer suggestions.

Basic Requirements:
must weigh up to 20 lbs.
should weigh in lbs. and oz., or at least 1/4-lbs.
would prefer digital readout, not a spring or balance scale
needs to be big/flat enough to hold a cat

My first thought was a baby scale, although I don't know if they are
available with digital feature -- but very few stores sell them, and the
two that I have seen looked like toys, unlikely to be at all accurate.

I then thought of the kind of scales that delicatessens use to weigh out
cold cuts and the like, and found a restaurant supply store and a scale
company that have them -- for $300 and up!! Now, I love my cats and want
to be able to keep accurate records of their weight, but $300 for a scale
is out of the question. I don't have any current problems with their weight
but my eldest is getting up there in years and I don't want to just rely
on my memory of what his normal weight looks like, if it starts going down
I'd like to know based on real evidence. Weight loss could indicate a
problem and that why I want to have some accuracy in the measurement.

Anybody else have ideas? I tried asking my vet but since they don't weigh
the cats they really couldn't help. I have no problems with buying used
equipment, that would help lower the cost I'm sure.

General search area is southern NH/norther MA, but side trips anywhere in
the Northeast would be possible. Please help!

Does anyone use Edge or K-Zyme? I have tried both and my cats won't
touch thier food with either of the additives in it. So I have almost
a full container of each. If anyone is interested in it let me know.

I have a scratch board (carpeted) that my cat absolutely refuses
to use - she prefers the corrugated box type, so I would like
to get rid of it for a few bucks. Anyone interested please contact
me on dtn 297-7261 or MCIS1::michaelson.

2936.9Anyone need an Ozium dispenser?JUPITR::KAGNOWed Sep 12 1990 20:2515
I know there is a note on Ozium somewhere but mine is intended to sell
my automatic dispenser if anyone is interested.

I purchased it back in April at the Boxboro show so it's still fairly
new. It has only used one can of ozium and I believe the batteries are
still fresh (might need new ones soon).

If someone is interested I can bring it to the Framingham show on 9/23.

Oh, and of course I'll undercut the original cost :^) !!

2936.10Corduroy Catnip Mice For SaleTOPDOC::TRACHMANEmacX Exotics * 264-8298Mon Sep 17 1990 17:5514
    Hi,

Have any of you noticed the corduroy catnip mice that Hadleigh House
sells? Wellll, I have made a bunch of the same - they are about
6 - 8 inches long, fat, and have catnip and tails. I have a few
here in my office, and will have lots at the Framingham show. If
you are interested, send me mail. I'd rather not get into shipping
them if possible. The mice are machine washable, VERY sturdy -
almost indestructable (Field Tested by 16 cats) and lots of fun
for years! I've had some for about 3 years and not a hole in them.

    Price: $2.50 each

Wanted: Used Tokyo Cage, clean and in good condition
I would also consider a cage about the same size as a tokyo cage.

I'm going to need some more comfortable cage space for my kitties
    in the near future.

So if you have a cage or know of anyone who does, let me know.

Cat bed NEVER used. Green with roses on it. Very Victorian looking.
My cat thought I had lost it when I gave it to her. I bought it
for $40 but will sell it for $25. It is one of those foam filled
soft sided types. Moderator if this belongs elsewhere please move
    it.

FREE - to whoever wants to pick up in ZKO3: a nearly full bag of
Coski's Choice Tuna Crunch Cat Treats. My sister bought this at
Quincy Market for my cats for Christmas. While they're quite
intrigued by the smell of these treats, they absolutely won't eat
them. The treats themselves kinda look like kitty chips, and are
	made from all natural ingredients.

My office is ZKO3-3/T01, right outside the Runge-Kutta Conference
Room - take your first right after coming out of the cafeteria,
and the R-K is the second conf. room on your right as you walk
	down the hall.

I have a two story cylander cat condo for sale. It is carpeted in a
nice light beige color inside and out and is perfect for the petite cat
or kittens. My boys are just too darn large to enjoy it, except for
Murdock, who is small but shows little to no interest.

Like new condition; will sell for $25. Paid $40 w/tax.

I find myself with a couple of extra Tokyo cages. One is brand
new, still in the box (um, I better check that -- maybe I've got
an empty box in the storage room!?). The other is used, but in
good condition (no rust on bars, etc.).

Make me an offer, for either, or for both. YOU pick up.

2936.18Show cage curtains for sale (used, good condition)RHODES::GREENECatmax = Catmax + 1Mon Mar 25 1991 15:5927
I also have several sets of show cage curtains that I no longer
    need.

These are all cotton/poly, "wash 'n wear", from Village
Stitchery (or some name like that).

    Colors:

    	sky blue reversible to pink

    	pink reversible to burgundy

pale green reversible to pale green w/soft flower pattern

    	??? gotta check

All are double cage size, include tops, bottoms, maybe a divider,
and are double (so you get covering inside and outside the
    	wire cage.

All are used, but clean (no stains) and in very good condition.

As with Tokyo cages, I will do an inventory and get back.

(I just splurged on new curtains...just what I needed, huh? :-)

I've got an almost brand-new kitty box with locking top, filter, etc
for a medium-size cat. It's really in perfect shape... clean. My

jut sitting in the garage. Bought at a pet store, so it's quality.

Marlene, you sure are practical!! I remember the showing days and how
thrilled I was each time Murdock was awarded a rosette. Maybe someday
I will be able to part with them. For now, they continue to hang on
the tribute board we made in his memory.

Karen kept Bailey's Best Alter rosette and ditched the rest (I think!).

I've been wondering what to do with my boxes of rosettes from Bailey
and Amelia's show days. I want to keep the BEST and 2nd BEST ones
but I think I'd be able to part with the rest.

Jo, do you know if any of the clubs around here accept old rosettes
as donations? I seem to remember a TICA show in Monterey where we
    got recycled ribbons.

You might check with the Fresno club. Seems they had a show on April
Fool's day and gave us all recycled rosettes. Also, they did a
Holiday's show and gave us all rosettes recycled from holiday theme
shows. This was last May I think. It was kind of neat.

Also, maybe some of the rosette companies could recycle parts of them.
