Ohhhhhh this hurts...to be left off the list!

Um, can I bring the night school class I teach with
me? (Hey, they were expecting a midterm exam -- they'd
probably be *very* enthusiastic about the change in plans!)

    Have fun!

HopeyCat, Coo, Willow, Raki-Rak, Little Danish Pastry,
Wispy, Karma, Frosty Man, and Cal send their greetings as well.

    at 5:50.

now...can anyone tell me where that station is OR would someone be
willing to pick him up there so I don't get lost???

I guess you can count me in too! I got a sitter for my son, now

.2 Nancy, the train station in Littleton is just around the corner from
where I used to live there (Harwood Ave.). I could pick him up if
you'd like. I'm only coming from the Chelmsford facility so it won't
    be that much further.

4467.5I won't be able to come. Lemon problem.WFOV11::HILLSThu Mar 21 1991 11:2820
    Hi Marilyn,
I regret to say, that I won't be attending this evening. My heart is
actually going to break. I will miss everyone, I was really looking
forward to attending and seeing everyone and pictures of kitties. I
posted my note what I am going through in the carbuffs notes file, note
#423. I got stuck with a lemon and my lemon has a blown head gasket,
rods, pistons, and major damage to the engine...cylinders, etc. If
anyone has a chance to go into the carbuffs notes file, please do, it
    is quite the story.
I hope everyone has a nice time. I will be thinking of
everybody, my heart will be with you. I am really sorry that I won't be
coming to see all of you.
Please give all your kitties hugs for me.
       Sincerely,
Denise with Spooky, Smokey, Kuji, Tiddly Winks, Heidi, and Toby (the
    dog).

P.S. Marilyn, if I could donate some money towards tonight, please let
know, I would be glad to send some to you. Thank you, Denise

Yeah, and you *know* what they'll be doing at this party?!
They'll be talking about US! When we can't hear what they're
saying! And my mom is bringing pictures! How degrading. All
these weird humans oohing and aahing over pictures of us when
they *know* we don't like having our pictured taken. I can
hear the comments now "Oh, she's soooo cute!" "Look at that
face!" "What a silly kitty!" Pullleeeeze! I shall be calling
for my KittyKat Decoder Ring....charge it to mom's card will ya?

First I would like to thank Marilyn for coordinating the
Feline dinner. We had a good time and we're sorry you couldn't
    make it.

Priscilla was so happy...you guys lighted up her life and gave
her new hope. On the way to the dinner she was sharing how sometimes
it gets very frustrating trying to figure out where the money
is going to come from for just food and litter....never mind all
the vet bills and overhead. The time she spends at Pat's shelter
and her own...is unbelievable. Well on the way home...she
again had that special sparkle...that said "we can do this...we'll
find a way!" She was so grateful for all the Feliners have done.
I'll tell you it made my night!!!

Again...thanks and I really enjoyed myself. And a very special
    THANK YOU from Priscilla.

4467.13Wow, what a party!.....BOOVX1::MANDILEFri Mar 22 1991 12:2616
I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed last night and
what a wonderful group of "cat people" (:-)) !!!!! We talked
and shared stories and I was enjoying it so much that I didn't
want to leave...(so I ended up talking for another 30 mins in
    the parking lot! :-))

Priscilla was so pleased and surprised (I was sitting next
to her when the surprise was sprung!!) and also thanks everyone
for all the tips and thoughtfulness and help in finding homes
    for her (& Pats) "children".......

And thanks to Marilyn for arranging the bash....sorry I didn't
get to meet you, and all those who also couldn't make it.

My hat off to Marilyn for planning the event. We had a wonderful
    time!!!

My hat off to Priscilla. She's quite a wonder!!!!!

I have to share a quick story from Helene: Her poodle always wears a
bandana. Since the war, it has been yellow! :'). Helene is also
    quite a lady.

Lisa, we're so glad you were able to join us. I loved the commentaries
    on your kitty photo album.

We found out some truly "important" facts about fleas last night. For
such facts, you'll have to speak with Jim's wife ;').

I so enjoyed meeting everyone. And, as Lynn stated, the conversations
lasted in the parking lot 'til after 9!

On the dimmer side ;'). My first fortune (note the party was on the
first day of Spring) said something like "You'll have better luck
beginning next winter." Bummer. I just had to try again. The second
    was empty! I'm nervous.

I haven't really been following this note cause my mind has been on
other things... but after the last few replies I'd like to know what
the surprise was that was sprung on Priscilla! What did you great
people do to make her so happy :^)?

Glad everyone had a good time and wish I could have been there.

I would also like to say that I had a great time last night, so
good in fact that that's all I was thinking about while driving down

It was great to finally get to put some faces to names and see all
the kitty pictures and hear all the great stories.

Can't wait for the next get together.

    	re: Roberta,

First and foremost Nancy presented the SLM ($300) to Priscilla
in person. The look on her face was PRICELESS! =) Then we all
had brought money, coupons, food, litter, and treats for the
cats at the shelter. She thought we brought it for a cat show.
=) So that was a great surprise for her too. She was quite
elated by the end of the evening.

I don't think I have ever experienced so much sharing of stories and ideas
in one evening! And I think I might not have been the only one whose eyes

Jus' letting you know that Tamara and I had a wonderful time, too!
Hats off to Melissa, Nancy, and everyone else who put this thing

I was sitting across from Priscilla as she got the Silver Lining
check... along with the surplus $$$ from the dinner money ("You
mean they included the tip in the bill?") and everything else
that was collected that night. It was great meeting all the folks!

As for flea anatomy, well... you can ask me about it in email 8-)

I really enjoyed finally getting to present the Silver Lining Memorial
in person. That was a treat and Priscilla's face was priceless when
she figured out what was happening.

I don't think anyone besides myself and Kim Trainque knew the amount
that had been collected this time around. I received checks for as
large an amount as $50 & $75! But of course, its everyone's
contribution, regardless of amount, that makes this work as well as
it does. I hope that NO ONE ever feels inadequate because they can't
donate a large amount. Its not the individual donations that matter
in the long run, its what we all do together :^)

You guys really help me keep some sanity in my life and you've helped
restore my faith in human beings.

NOW - I don't want to wait another SIX months for a FELINER party.
I hope we'll have another one soon and I'll be happy to coordinate
it if Marilyn would like a rest :^))))

    Nancy

p.s. I considered reading the names of all those we were comemmorating

Thanks to Marilyn for organising another great feliners party!
I had a great time - I get so *LONELY* when I visit the
USA on business. It's nice to have a great evening to look
forward to!! I've had a great week - went out for a curry with
Rumi (a feliner ) on Tuesday, went to vist Sandy Fraser (another
feliner!!) on Wednesday, then the party Thursday! It's been a
    good week!!

Priscilla is a wonderful lady and I'm glad I got to meet her. I
collected up copies of all her leaflets so if any UK feliners
    want to see them ...

I now have lots of rosettes to take home for the Oxford cat show!
Thanks Cin! I also got two sparklers ;-)

Thanks to FELINE, I've had a good trip!! Now I've just got to get home

4467.29Sorry I missed a good time!CSSE::MANDERSONFri Mar 22 1991 17:3225
I am so glad to hear that the party was such a success. I am just
sorry that I was unable to attend. Due to a situation out of my
control I wasn't there to share that special moment with all of
you when the gifts and money were presented to Priscilla.

Nancy offered to coordinate the next party - which I think is
wonderful. I have enjoyed doing it in the past and would consider
doing it again...however, I don't want to be a 'hog'.

Seeing as the get togethers are so successful perhaps every six months
isn't enough...and we should have them quarterly. I think it's not
only a fun time for us all to get together and meet one another, share
stories and pictures but to meet people like Priscilla who are so
dedicated. The support from everyone is remarkable.

I know some people - outside of Digital - who have heard of the Feliner
notesfile. I don't know how they know about it, but they do. We must
be a very strong force and because of the caring, giving and love we
all have for animals - word spreads fast.

    Marilyn

P.S. Now, I want to know when someone is going to write an article

move the shelter to Priscilla's property in Lunenburg
hopefully this summer. If anyone needs full addresses...

Reading this file makes me so sad and glad.

I sure missed a great party from all the comments. Lisa got into
the states and out and I didn't get a chance to say, HI, first
time I missed since we had the first one two winters ago on a
night that wasn't fit for man nor beast to have had their nose
    outside. Right California Dee?

How wonderful for Nancy, after all the work of cordinating the SLM
that she had the joy of presenting it in person and up close to
    Priscilla. Did anyone take pictures?

I agree that having an East Coast feliner dinner, quarterly would
NOT be too often. Maybe we could coordinate it with the closing
of the SLM and if anyone has some extra change in their pockets
Nancy could have it right then and there. Anyone agree?

Lisa when are you coming back again? I didn't get a chance to show
off Mr. Miyagi's pictures. (Thursday nights for me are really bad)

Any chance of getting an article done on this event in one of the
    Digital news papers?

4467.41Keep us posted on moving day!TALLIS::PARADISWorshipper of BacchusFri Mar 22 1991 19:2020
Let us know about moving day as well... we have 5 carriers (two
single-cat and three converted laundry baskets that can hold
two friendly cats each). We also have a cargo van that might
    come in handy 8-).

Of course, with all these FELINErs doing the moving, I wonder how
many cats will make it to their destination and how many will be,
um, "appropriated" along the way? 8-) 8-) 8-)

Me: ...uh, Tam? I... er... kept a couple. They just looked
up at me and said "Daddy!" and I COULDN'T leave them
    	     behind!!!

Tam: ...er... oh... I... um... kept THREE. I couldn't help
             it... they followed me home!

Me: Hmmm.... how much kitty litter do we have on hand?

I also hated to miss the fun last night - but parents unexpectedly
showing up from across state abruptly changed my plans. I'm expecially
sorry to have missed the presentation... I also like the idea of a
quarterly "do". I will volunteer to help if needed, too.

And if (when?) the new house is built, count on me to contribute time and
energy, and whatever skill I can muster (not a lot, but I surprize
myself periodically). Moving day, could even be fast, easy, and QUITE
a party the way things are shaping up!

Yes, I took pics! Send mail to wessex::lisa if you want copies. I hope
they come out - I had to put my camera through TWO X-ray devices going
into the USA and then again coming out.

Barbara, save the pics of Mr Miyagi for my next visit!

Now all I've got to do is convince my manager that I need to visit the
USA every 3 months instead of every 6!

re: .43 - LIsa, is this blackmail! You're going to send this
picture of me and my WILD hair to everyone!! ;^)

BTW - We almost went to cat #12 this weekend (before the kittens
arrived) but I was saved when this woman and her son adopted the
cat that stole my heart from Kitty Angels. Whew!

Sorry I missed the fun, due to a fall I took last Tuesday, I was at the
hospital Thursday night getting tests done and my arm is now in a
sling. (my cats still think it was funny I fell.) I talked to
Priscilla Saturday night. She almost cried when she told me about the
SLM. Nancy had told how much was going to be given and I never let on
to Priscilla it was coming. She thought herself and the few volunteers
that she has were the only ones interested in saving these poor babies.
She is now looking forward to our help and a great friendship.

re: .45 - That was the longhair golden tabby and white female. She
needed a bath, deworming and a good diet but her beauty shown through
all that. She has the makings of a champion!
