1119.0. "Adoption Program at NH Humane Society Feb.14-Apr.14" by HUMOR::EPPES (Make 'em laugh) Wed Feb 17 1988 14:33

From the Nashua Telegraph, sometime last week:

			Cats bring love home

New Hampshire Humane Society, in cooperation with Edward Lowe
Industries, the maker of Kitty Litter Brand cat box filler, will launch
the "Bring Love Into Your Home...With a Cat" adoption program Feb. 14.
The program, which will continue through April 14, will increase public
awareness concerning the homeless cat program in central New Hampshire.
"We have an average of 20 homeless cats and kittens waiting for new
loving homes. Last year we received over 2,000 cats and only 500 found
new homes. That's why this campaign is so important," says Connie Howard,
    administrative assistant.
For a limited time during the "Bring Love Into Your Home...With a Cat"
program, cat adopters at the N.H. Humane Society will receive a free
cat adoption kit that includes: a disposable cat box; a coupon for a
free 8-pound bag of Kitty Litter brand cat box filler; a certificate of
Love signed by Edward Lowe; a decal that proclaims "In This Home Is Love;"
and a helpful cat care guide.
For more information about Lowe's "Bring Love Into Your Home...With
a Cat" adoption program, contact the N.H. Humane Society, P.O. Box 572,
    Laconia, NH at (603) 524-3252.

1119.1Is it IN Laconia?BAGELS::ALLENWed Feb 17 1988 15:2224

Since the Society is located in Laconia, does this mean you have
to go all the way up their to get a kitten?

I'm planning on going on a kitten-finding adventure with my friends
this weekend, so I suppose I will call the number and find out more,
    perhaps answering my own question.

My friends, by the way, just moved into a condex, and took in our
two kitties as guests while we were away on vacation. They had
planned to get two kittens anyway, but now that they had a taste
of how much fun they are, they want to get them ASAP. Actually,
my friend Laurie wants a carbon copy kitten-version of Sebastion,
the big grey and white fluffer, even though he hissed at them his
entire first two days with them. They eventually won him over -
they are what I call truly dedicated cat-lovers.

ANYWAY, anyone with information about fluffy kittens that are
available, let me know, and in the mean time, if I find anything
interesting about this "adopt a cat" program, I'll add it here.

    thanks Nina!

    Amy.

There is a beautiful grey and white cat (FREE) complete with bed
and litter box at the Breeder's Choice pet shop in Marlboro Rte.

They don't know it's age or anything about it. Some woman found
it in a dumpster and left it with them. It's very cute and seems
as though it has a very nice temperment. They believe it is a female.

Your friend might be interested is seeing the cat. I would have
taken it, but there isn't much room at the Inn.

All I know is what was in the article, but it does seem that Laconia
is the place. If you do call, let us know what you find out...

    My pleasure!

     Karen,

You wouldn't dare to part with Bandit. You love him too much.
Besides, we all enjoy reading about Bandit's latest antic.

Bandit reminds me of DejaVu (BRAT) who I also love dearly.

I also met the cat at Breeder's Pride at she is a sweetheart who
needs a home. Very affectionate with people. I have too large a
brood to take her home myself . That is one sweet cat who would
    make a wonderful friend.
