3940.0. "If one has to go, it's always the terror...." by BOOVX2::MANDILE () Fri Aug 24 1990 14:40

Casey, one of my Korats, has been coughing & wheezing
quite a lot lately, along with an eye that has been
runny. So, I took him to the vet last night, and he
was examined. For the Eye-vet put in glow in the dark liquid
to see if any cornea damage was present. Off went the
lights, and it was weird! His eye was glowing green!!!
No damage, so I have salve to put in three times a day.
I told him about the coughing, (which sometimes went on
for 10 mins this past week) he checked for infected teeth,
which could cause wheezing, listened to his breathing,
made him cough, etc., and he diagnosed: "Asthma"!
Like "mother", like cat! He got two shots for the eye
and wheezing, and he gets 1/2 a tablet twice a day of
Lincin (sp) for the wheezing & coughing. Pills for the
one cat out of the four that is an absolute terror to
medicate. He growled, hissed and howled the whole time
at the vets, too. I told him he wasn't a good rep for his
    breed, and the vet laughed.

I recently purchased a "pill popper" from Haddeleigh House because
Halie HATES to be pilled and tends to bite your finger. It works
great and I highly recommend it for pilling a cat that hates pills.
