My wife and I have semi-adopted a beautiful black (actually in the sun she is
chocolate brown) longhaired female cat and her new litter of kittens. She is
currently staying with her kittens under our back porch. We are wary of bringing
them into the house because we have a 21 year old Maine Coon cat who is very
jealous of her territory and, because of her age, susceptible to any diseases
that they might be carrying. But we have been feeding them and would like to
locate the mother's owner and/or find homes for her and for the kittens.
The kittens seem to be six to eight weeks old. All of them have blue eyes. There
are two solid gray ones, one long hair and one short; two gray striped ones, and
one sort of calico - yellow, white and black patches. They are all wonderful.
The mother is a beautiful cat, too. She is very pretty, with bright golden eyes,
and is very bright, clean, and affectionate. If we could keep any of them, it
would probably be her. She is quite tame and we believe was a house cat until
recently.

Also, if anyone has any advice on any shelters that would take them and
guarantee not to put them to sleep, that would be welcome, too.

The Haverhill Dog Pound takes cats and guarantee's not to kill them.
The only down side is that the living conditions are not good. The
cats stay in dog cages, so their little paws are not comfortable on the
big cage floor. There's lots of dogs barking. Also, the people there
aren't really supposed to have cats but they love them, so they buy
food with their own money. They're kind people but I would suggest
that if you have to bring your cats there, that you give them maybe a
case of food and lots of litter.

373-1212.

How are you doing? How's everything in VRO! It's changed a lot since
I left two years ago, I'm sure!
these babies sound adorable. The gray ones and the gray tabby ones
eyes will probably turn to a shade of green.
I will talk to a few friends. I know that some of them are looking for
kittens.
