3869.0. "VET NEEDED - MILFORD/BELLINGHAM" by WILLEE::SKOWRONEK () Thu Aug 02 1990 23:15

    Hi,

I am not much of a noter, but I need some help finding a veterinarian.
I use to go to the Northboro Vet Clinic, but I cannot afford their
prices. My kitten, Alex, has had his first shots, but needs the
    rest of the series.

I am looking for a vet in the Milford/Bellingham area. I also would
like to know if anyone knows of a place that would fix a cat for
a low price. I know most vets charge about $50 for neutering (sp?),
but I can't afford that. Too bad they don't have a health care
plan for animals, it would help alot . . .

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I will be on vacation next
week, but I will be back on the 13th.

I think I can help in the neuter department. I have applications
for low cost spay/neuters from Friends of Animals. A neuter costs
$20. You may have to drive a bit tho because you have to use
participating vets. Give me a call and I'll go through the list
of vets with you. I have a feeling tho, that southboro or Northboro
is going to be the closest. But then, its only once and its worth
    the drive to save money.

Northboro animal hospital does honor the FOA certificates.

Their regular neuter costs $58....so FOA gives a big savings. THeir shots
are a few dollars more than other vets, but remember you get what you
    pay for.......

re: pet insurance

There was something on Entertainement tonight (I think) earlier
this week that told about the various businesses certain celebrities
were into. One celebrity (male - can't remember his name but
one of his names may have started with an N) has a pet insurance
business. For some small fee (under $100 - might be $60) you
can get up to 80% of your vet bills covered. I think this
includes routine things such as neutering.

I wish I had paid more attention at the time buy I was sewing
and trying to keep T.K. from scooting under my fabric (he is
	just soooo helpful).

	Maybe someone else knows...

I go to Medway Animal Hosp. But as infrequently as possible, because
Jasper turns into a maniac there....and, they'd rather he didn't
visit too often either. I have heard that the one in Bellingham
is good also. Don't know the name of it, but I think it's the only
one. Don't know about any in Milford, so this is all the help I
    can be!

and they are open 6 days a week plus they are on call for emergencies.
They are on Diamond Hill Road in Woonsocket,R.I.if you are fimiliar
with Woonsocket at all it is directly up the street from Walnut
Hill Plaza and the Big D, Sears, and such

There is the Bellingham Animal Hospital on Rte. 140 - the phone number
is 966-1000. Dr. Shea is great! I have been using them for 6 years
and have been very happy with them. I try to make my appointments with
Dr. Shea because he is knowledgeable and very good with my dogs.

I know for a fact that they do not honor spay certificates and the
nearest one I found was Dr. Frazer in Southboro. He did my cat and
    everything went well.

    Good Luck!

    Hi,

I used Bellingham Animal Hospital when I lived in Bellingham, and
really liked them. I agree that Dr. Shea is the best there, but all the
other vets there follow a very close second when it came to handling my
    kitties.

I used Milford Animal Hospital for a while, and they were good, but
VERY expensive. I changed to Bellingham when Dr. Heller was out and I
was reffered to Marlboro Animal Hospital! I told them I refused to go
there, because they were too expensive, and since it was an emergency
of sorts, (kitty had an abcess on his face) I went to Bellingham, and
    stayed with them.

Now I just need to find a good vet in the Hudson, MA area.
