3388.0. "My heart is breaking....." by BOOVX2::MANDILE () Mon Mar 05 1990 14:47

A very unhappy noter here. Saturday, we took Noel (#3199) to
the MSPCA. I did ok until I got back to the car. Then the flood
started. It had to be, with Rusty being sick and no one vaccinated
for FeLV. She had 2+ months of warmth, food and affection. But
of course, I was deeply attached to the sweet little thing. I get
this overwhelming urge to rush back, snatch her and run for the
hills. But common sense returns. My Hubby & family & friends keep
telling me I did the best I could for her, and deep down I know
I did. But it still hurts. I want her back. I kept going to the
room she was in, out of habit. I still hear her calling a greeting
to me, and asking me to come sit with her. I cleaned the room out
the same day. Couldn't see for the tears, but I had to do something
to keep from falling totally apart.

Have to sign off now, can't see for the tears.

God bless her where ever she is.

Dont worry. If she is gone so to speak, she is probably having a great
time with our Lord. I dont know what your beliefs are, but look at it
this way, she's not in any pain anymore. You'll be ok, and so will
    she.

Hang in there. I've been in your position before, and it just takes
time to get over these things.

Our hearts do break for a moment in time.....

But you will, believe me smile through your wonderful memories of
her. If ever we do this, and it's always for our fur-faces, we
still receive their love for they cannot ask for peace and rest.

Scruffy sends you a warm hug...

    Lynne,

As said previously, you will remember the good times once the hurt goes
away (and DAMN those people who just left her/him). My thoughts are
with you - I know how hard it is to leave an animal that you have
    gotten attached to.

    I had to
drop off a stray that was hanging around my mother's house for about 2
weeks. It was getting cold out and I couldn't stand the thought of
this beautiful kitty spending her time out in the cold. My husband and
I brought her to the Animal Rescue League and it was tough for the both
of us. We wanted to keep her so bad, but knew that it would be this
one, then the next stray that we happened to come across - we had to
put our foot down. I cried (the rescue league must have thought it was
my cat the way I carried on so). But, time heals all wounds - so go
home and hug your furfaces and thank God there are people in the world
    like you.
