3069.0. "Pet Pictures with Santa" by BOOKIE::FISCHER () Mon Nov 20 1989 17:59

The New England Assistance Dog Service (NEADS, aka Hearing Ear Dog
Program) is pleased to announce its annual holiday fundraiser. The
locations listed below have donated the time and space for you to have
your pet's picture taken with Santa. If you have more than one pet,
as many as will fit in Santa's lap (or at his feet, or by his side)
are welcome. Children are also welcome, provided they are accompanied
    by a pet. :-)

Please phone ahead for an appointment (with the exception of Fitz-
gerald's). Donations vary, depending on the location, and range from
    $5 to $10.

There will also be Santa pictures at the dog show in Marlboro on Sat.,
Dec. 16. I suspect pets of the feline variety would not be permitted,
however, so I did not list the location.

I will be helping out at McGrath as an elf again this year. Looking
forward to seeing some of you there!

    Thank you for your support.

    Cindy -

I spoke with Dr. Migday of Slade Vet Hospital last night. Their times
for photos are from 12:00 - 5:00pm, scheduled in 3 minute intervals.
Dr. Migday will be dressed as an elf and will be taking the pictures.
She said the man playing Santa is absolutely wonderful with animals.

Barney, Gonezo, and Benjamin are scheduled at 12:15-12:21. Hopefully,
I'll be able to get all 3 in the same picture, but who knows if
    they'll cooperate.

The donation to the charity is $10. I'm not sure if that's $10 per pet
    or per sitting.

By the way - Dr. Migday's PBS show has once again been postponed until
    March, 1990.

   Re. -1

Thanks for correcting the time, Mary. I'll make sure I note the
correction in CANINE as well. The $10 at Slade is per sitting, which
can include one or multiple pets.

What a disappointment to learn that the PBS show has yet again been
postponed! I've been so anxious to see the segment on Teddy and his
   service dog Kendrick.

Dr. Migday isn't too happy either about her show being postponed. When
I asked her why, she replied "I DON'T want to talk about it" and
indicated that everyone in her office is pretty upset also.
Apparently, they were 1/2 way through addressing client cards (about
8000 total!) when the show got cancelled. They were going to make an
announcement on her show and these cards were a follow up. Now,
they're making phone calls to their "goofier" clients, ie, like us
Feliners who just love stuff like this.
