3057.0. "Manx kitties?" by USWAV1::POTHIER () Fri Nov 17 1989 14:11

I am the owner of a six year old male manx, and a six year old grey
housecat. My roommate is a cat lover, but would like one of his
own. So I would like to get him one for Christmas. This will not
be a problem with my cats, or my dog, as I've brought other cats
and dogs home to live before, and everyone has gotten along just
fine. I would LOVE to get him another manx, but it would have to
be female. Does anyone know of any manx kitties available? I have
a friend in Pennsylvania who breeds them, but I haven't been able
to get ahold of her. I would want to be sure that the breeder is
responsible and breeds only to tailed cats, etc. Also, I know my
roommate would love a black cat, so a black manx would be the ultimate!
Can anyone help? I live in the Boston area, but am willing to travel
    a bit.

    Thanks.

    ZZ

This probably isn't much of a help, but there are alot of kitties,
abandoned, feral, etc who are in need of a good home. In fact,
I know of a very affectionate black kitten in Somerville. My
friend's mother and her neighbors take the kittens produced by
the feral cats in the neighborhood and place them in good homes.
If you're interested, let me know.

p.s. Why don't you come to the cat shows and talk to the breeders
there? There is one in Plymouth tomorrow and Haverhill on 12/2-3.

Friends of mine lost a Manx over the summer and spent
MONTHS searching for a new Manx kitten. (The first
one they found at the SPCA, very unusual.) They drove
all over tarnation, including Pennsylvania, I think
(they live in Boston). Finally they found a breeder
in New Jersey. If the originator of this note is still
interested, I can obtain the information on this and
    other breeders from my friends.
