2887.0. ""Remembrance" & "Celebration" Cards" by NICLUS::MTAG () Fri Sep 22 1989 19:15

I recently received the sad news that my brother's cat, Bully-Boy, was
hit and killed by a car on September 10. He was born on May 8, 1988
which was not only Mother's Day, but my mother's birthday (same day in
which we had a litter born about 17 years ago).

Anyway, the MSPCA (out of Angell Memorial Hospital) has these
"Remembrance Cards" for pets that we've lost, and "Celebration Cards"
for new family pet members, and we can send donations into the MSPCA in
honor of these pets. You can also specify what area you want the
donation to go towards, or where ever it's needed most. The owners of
the pet will receive notification of the donation. I just thought this
was a real nice thing and have sent in my donation in honor of Bully.

That's a great idea! Is the AMH the only place to get these? I've
never heard of them thru the MSPCA before. If you have an address,
I'm sure a lot of people would be interested.

                                         thanks, Denise

I've also put Bully-boy's name on the Silver Lining Memorial and
will be happy to give you a copy of the letters when the gift goes
    out.

    Re .1
Denise - offhand, I can not remember AMH's address. It's on
South Huntington Ave, Boston. I'll get the number and the zip
    for you tomorrow.

    Re .2
Nancy - Thanks. I've spoken to my brother and he and his wife are
really broken up about Bully. Their other cats (Bully's mom Cleo,
brother Fred, and Alley-Cat) seem real confused as to what happened
to Bully. They're thinking about getting another, but just aren't
ready. Makes me appreciate my 3 even more.
