2881.0. "Looking to adopt a cat" by SASE::GRAY () Thu Sep 21 1989 20:53

    I want to adopt an affectionate and playful cat, preferably older,
    declawed (or one that does not claw), that has been spayed and
    has had all its shots. This cat would be strictly indoors.

    Does anyone know of an available cat near Maynard that fits that
    description?

    I'd like to try this notes file before going to the shelter.

    Contact DLNVAX::PALMER. She works with the Framingham Humane society
    and would have some good info on what's available, or could point
    you to someone who does know.
      Also, come to the catshow on sunday at Keefe Tech in Framingham.
    (note 1093.25 has directions). Shelters frequently have cages
    with adoptable cats at shows.

2881.2try the Framingham Dog PoundSTOR06::DALEYFri Sep 22 1989 14:0714
    I don't know if he is still there but the Framingham Pound had
    a beautiful orange male with some white, who was declawed, an adult,
    and had a wonderful personality. The pound # is 620-4870. They work
    with the Framingham Animal Humane Society, so the cat has been
    neutered, received all shots except rabies, and has been tested
    negative for leukemia. The cost to adopt him is $ 30 and well
    worth every dollar.

    You might also try the Framingham Humane Society - they get declawed
    cats frequently too.

    I just read Nancy's note - perhaps if the cat I wrote about in note
    .2 is still available, they could bring him to the show if you plan
    on being there.

    I have just the cat for you except you will have to have him declawed
    and nuetered. He is only 3 months and he is very affectionate.

    His name is Vernon.

    Do you want him?

    At the Framingham Cat Show on Sunday, there was a shelter there (from
    Concord, MA) who had an absolutely beautiful Siamese cat for adoption.
    She was abandoned, is spayed, and is declawed. If you're interested, I
    have their number at home.

2881.7I think I found one!SASE::GRAYWed Sep 27 1989 11:308
    I think I may have found a cat to adopt. Cammey (from a previous
    note) is visiting me this weekend.

    Thanks for all the notes. I'll keep you posted.

    That's Great Debbie! We were going to take Cammey as a
    fostercat but her grandmother was worried about sending her
    into another multicat situation. She sounds like a real love.
